Knowing what to do in any situation is a key to success in running a small business so it’s a main goal during early and ongoing franchise training

One of the joys of owning a small business is the variety each day brings. That also can be a challenge for the unprepared, which is why all our commercial cleaning franchise owners go through a serious commercial cleaning training course before launching operations.

“We believe in exploring every scenario when it comes to training,” explains Rich Helm, Franchise Development Manager. “So, we have a very thorough training process to make sure franchise owners are ready for everything from employee scheduling and inventory control to handling demanding customers and sales calls.”

Intensive pre-opening training sets the stage

Once a new franchise owner is on board, he or she will learn about the our business system and spend a week at the training center in the Tampa, Florida corporate office to put that knowledge to work in some hands-on situations.

“People refer to that week as ‘drinking water from a fire hose’; it’s pretty intense,” Helm says. “And, if that were all we were doing, then it would be too much. Since it’s just the foundation for ongoing learning, though, it’s a great way for new owners to really dive in and get themselves ready for opening day.”

Continued support and reinforcement builds success

After the new franchise is up and running, the franchise owner will receive site visits by a certified trainer who will clarify and assist with any issues that might arise as well as reinforce all the owner has learned so far.

“We also have dedicated business coaches for every franchise owner, as well as supplemental educational materials for marketing, customer development and more,” Helm says. “When we say training is never over, we mean that – whether it’s for a new franchise owner or for one who’s been around for years and who has seen strong growth. We believe that all of us can always improve so we train that way.”
